JA FOCUSES ON EMPOWERING STUDENTS TO BUILD FINANCIAL STABILITY, CONNECT TO REAL LIFE SKILLS AND CAREERS, AND IGNITE YOUTH ENTREPRENEURSHIP. HELPS STUDENTS MAKE A CONNECTION BETWEEN WHAT THEY LEARN IN SCHOOL AND HOW IT CAN BE APPLIED IN THE REAL WORLD, THEREBY ENHANCING THE RELEVANCE OF THEIR CLASSROOM LEARNING AND EQUIPPING THEM TO BE THE FUTURE LEADERS OUR COMMUNITIES NEED TO THRIVE. OUR RELEVANT, EXPERIENTIAL PROGRAMS ARE OFFERED AT LITTLE OR NO COST TO SCHOOLS AND ALIGN WITH NATIONAL AND LOCAL CURRICULUM STANDARDS. DURING THE 2021-2022 SCHOOL YEAR, WE PARTNERED WITH LOCAL SCHOOLS AND 4,568 VOLUNTEERS TO TEACH OUR CURRICULUM TO 81,024 LOCAL STUDENTS IN MINNESOTA, DAKOTA, AND WESTERN WISCONSIN.

The mission is to restore and well-being in the Native community by recovering knowledge and access to healthy indigenous foods, medicines, and lifeways. We do this by: creating culturally-based opportunities for youth employment, entrepreneurship and leadership; Increasing access to Indigenous foods through farm production, sales and distribution; and community organizing and outreach around reclaiming cultural traditions, healthy Indigenous food, cooking skills, and policy and systems change. is also one the leaders a groundswell movement to reclaim Indigenous sovereignty through food. Our programs impact over 12,000 people each year from our youngest community members to our oldest.
